Instructor: David Samonte Date: March 8th Time: 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM Free This free workshop offers a safe and judgment-free space for students to build confidence and self-reliance in their daily lives. *This workshop will be professionally photographed for the instructor's promotional use. Join Coach David as he covers: How to "read the room" and increase situational awareness Ways to use body and verbal language to de-escalate situations Simple and effective self-protection techniques Local laws and their application to self-defense Important Notes: This workshop will be professionally photographed for the instructor's promotional use. While this is a safe space and consent can be withdrawn at any time, participants should be willing to work with the instructor to perform techniques when asked. Participants must be comfortable signing an image release form for potential use of their images in promotional materials. Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement. Logos should be minimal (small logos like Under Armour or a Nike swoosh are acceptable). The goal is to avoid the appearance of the workshop catering to any specific cause or business. The workshop may be briefly paused for photography purposes, including adjusting angles and repositioning participants. About the Instructor: David Samonte is a lifelong martial artist with experience in traditional, sport, and reality-based disciplines. He has trained in edged weapons and force-on-force combat, and has been teaching self-defense for over 10 years. He currently works as a stuntman, fitness coach, and assistant instructor at the Atlanta Balintawak Arnis Academy.
