This hands on, guided master class will give students the chance to play with concepts in a supportive space while receiving application advice from an experienced professional. Bring your gear, and come prepared to have a great time playing with makeup! This workshop is part of the Burlesque Academy Burlesque I, Drama Camp, Strip Tease, and FanWise DIY courses, and is also available as an independent workshop. About Sam: Sam has long been enamored with the stage, and has spent time both on stage and behind the scenes. When the stage stopped calling her, she had the pleasure to work under industry giants as an artist for MAC Cosmetics before continuing her work as a freelance artist. Her deep understanding of color theory elevated her work, and she soon developed a reputation as a beauty specialist for all skin tones and types giving her the opportunity to work with artists like Alisha Keys, Lil Kim, Outkast, Set Shakur and more. For the past two decades, Sam has created personalized beauty makeup for live performers, models, singers, and brides alike. Nothing makes her happier than to hear a client exclaim that in her chair they feel like the most beautiful version of themself. Makeup can be a powerful expression of self, and while her artistry has taken her all over the US and Canada her true passion lies in teaching folx how to embrace their existing beauty, and to bring it to the forefront as opposed to erasing their individuality. She is excited to bring inspiration to the rising class of dancers at The Atlanta School of Burlesque, and to be inspired by them in exchange.
